Tampa Woman Hits Two Young Girls

Tampa Woman Hits Two Young Girls

A Tampa woman hit two young girls with her SUV while they were playing at their preschool playground.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Imagination Station Preschool on East Magnolia Street in Arcadia.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman from Tampa, drove over a curb, hit a street sign, hopped the sidewalk, collided with a chain-link fence, took out a metal support post of the preschool, and eventually hit a tree.

The Tampa woman hit the two young girls during this collision. The 4-year-old girl was rushed to Gulf Coast Hospital in critical condition and later died from her injuries.

The 5-year-old girl was rushed to Desoto Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

The Tampa woman went to the hospital with minor injuries. Florida Highway Patrol says she was arrested and taken to jail because she didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

The crash is still under investigation.
