A 24-year-old Pasco bicyclist was killed Tuesday, July 12, 2022, when he was hit by a car while riding near Otis Allen Road in Zephyrhills.
Troopers said the bicyclist was riding with another man on a bicycle when the crash occurred about 9:08 p.m.
A 17-year-old driving a Mustang from Dade City was the driver who hit the bicyclist.
The men did not have lights on their bikes, and the girl did not see them as she drove up behind them.
The girl hit one of the bikes but not the other. The bicyclist who was hit was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The other cyclist, a 2-year-old man from Zephyrhills, was not injured. The driver of the Mustang also was not injured.
