Sarasota, FL – A single-vehicle wreck in Sarasota killed a person early Sunday morning, The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The wreck happened around 2 a.m. on University Parkway at Whitfield Avenue.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a pickup truck with a trailer was heading east on the parkway when the pickup truck went off the road into the median before hitting a tree.
The truck caught on fire, and the driver died at the scene.
