Question:
Should I see a doctor if I don’t think I was hurt in a car accident?
Answer: Seeing a Doctor if You Don’t Feel InjuredSometimes, I get asked about whether or not a client should go see a doctor even if they don’t think they were hurt in a car accident. It’s really important that a person involved in an accident on the highway get checked out medically. There are a couple of reasons for that. The first is that, under Florida law, a person has to seek medical attention within 14 days of the accident or a portion of their own insurance won’t even provide coverage for the medical bills.
It’s a tragic situation when a person puts it off or just decides, well, I’m not a complainer. I’m not the kind of person that likes to file claims. That’s all well and good, but that person has been paying premiums over the years. It’s important that they make a recovery for injuries that may be with them for the rest of their lives.
