Question:
How to I file a personal injury case in a multiple car pile up?
Answer:
If you live in Pinellas County or Hillsborough County, you’ve probably seen all the cars stacked up on the roadway before. It’s an unfortunate reality of living in the sunshine state. Because we have offices in Clearwater, Tampa, and throughout the entire Tampa Bay area, we get calls all the time of people who were injured in very similar accidents.
A five-car pileup can be a mess. You have to figure out first, who’s injured? Who’s responsible? What can you recover? Now, a lot of times, that five-car pileup or that four or five-car accident means that more than one person was negligent. Whether that’s the case or it all comes down to one motorist, we’re going to find the party that was responsible and hold them to account.
It’s also important to know that when you have multiple calls involved in an accident, you also have multiple insurance companies. I’ve actually gone to court where we’ve had a courtroom full of different lawyers representing all the different people that were involved, including their insurance companies. That’s not uncommon, unfortunately, in Florida.
If you believe you’ve been injured because you’ve been hurt in a car accident with four or five cars, or more, or even less, we have to make the decisions early on. Sometimes, there’s very limited insurance from which we can recover. That means we have to be aggressive and we have to be quick to make good decisions to maximize your recovery from the loss.
It can be complex. It usually requires experts, including experts who know about forensic evidence and how to put it together. We have experts at our disposal to do that for these types of cases. If you’ve been injured, I’d like to talk to you about it. I believe I can help you.
