How long will my chapter 7 bankruptcy case take?

Answer:

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy TimelineOccasionally, a client will ask how long his or her bankruptcy case will take. The answer is it’s about a hundred days from the day we file, until the day the court enters a discharge. A discharge is a document signed by a federal bankruptcy judge that says that the debts are wiped out and no longer enforceable. It’s about a hundred days in a Chapter 7, from the day we file until the court enters a discharge.
