What can I expect after filing chapter 11 bankruptcy?

Answer:
When I represent a client in a Chapter 11 case, invariably the business owner or the individual will ask, “What can I expect now that the case has been filed?” A Chapter 11 involves multiple hearings and court appearances. It requires the filing of monthly operating reports. There’s a great deal of oversight by the federal government in a Chapter 11 case. I don’t recommend anybody file their own Chapter 11 case, because it’s a very serious forum and a very serious judicial remedy that’s pursued that requires a great deal of thought, consideration, and planning.
