Sumter County, FL (February 13, 2020) – On Thursday morning, a trailer full of cattle escaped onto the I-75 after a truck crash in Sumter County near the Florida Turnpike. The accident has shut down both lanes of Interstate 75 for several miles as Sumter County Police try their best to wrangle the escaped cargo. There is currently no word on the cause of the crash or the condition of the driver.
It’s not everyday that a trailer full of cattle shuts down the I-75. Drivers expecting a normal commute to work are in udder disbelief at the eight-mile traffic backup, which has caused major delays. Authorities are bullish that the highway will be back to normal as soon as possible. So far, there have been no reported injuries (human or bovine) at the scene of the crash.
