An 80-year-old woman is dead after she was hit in Clearwater by a vehicle Thursday afternoon, according to police.
Marianne Meichenbaum was in the 1200 block of Gulf Boulevard and struck around 1:41 p.m., the Clearwater Police Department said.
Impairment was not believed to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation by the department’s traffic homicide team.
The 1200 block and 1300 blocks of Gulf Boulevard were closed for investigation at the scene, but now are reopened.
