A pedestrian was struck and killed on Roosevelt Boulevard early Friday morning in Pinellas County, the Florida Highway Patrol stated.
The accident occurred around 5:50 a.m. near the intersection of Dodge Street.
Florida Highway Patrol said the pedestrian, a 33-year-old man from St. Petersburg, stepped into the path of oncoming traffic when a car struck him as he was trying to cross Roosevelt. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Clearwater, was not seriously injured.
