A man riding a moped was killed in a traffic crash in Pasco County on Tuesday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred after 6 p.m. at Colony and Fairwinds roads.
Florida Highway Patrol said a 40-year-old man from Holiday was driving a Yamaha QT50 motorized bike east on Lake Karl Drive approaching Colony Road when stopped at an intersection, then made a left turn.
A 55-year-old man from Spring Hill was driving a Ford F-150 truck west on Fairwinds Road as he approached Colony Road. The pickup truck driver “failed to stop, entered the intersection and collided with the motorized bike,” the Highway Patrol stated.
The man on the moped later died at the hospital from his injuries. No other details, including the names of the people involved, were released.
