One person is dead after two vehicles collided in St. Petersburg on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
The fatal crash occurred around 6:42 p.m. at 34th Street N and 13th Avenue N, the St. Petersburg Police Department stated. Vito Mckie, 52, was driving south on 34th Street N as a pickup truck was headed north on 34th Street N.
The pickup made an unexpected U-turn as Mckie went through the light, causing the vehicles to collide.
Mckie was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The pickup driver, a woman in her 60s, received minor injures, police said earlier in a meeting.
