A 59-year-old Hudson man was killed Thursday in a crash around 11:52 a.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a pickup truck northbound on SR-589 (Veterans Parkway) exit ramp leading to SR-52.
For an “unknown reason,” the pickup truck departed the roadway. Once the Hudson man made it onto the shoulder, the pickup collided first with a light pole and then a traffic control signal pole before stopping.
The man went to a local hospital but later died from injuries he sustained in the crash.
