A 55-year-old Floral City woman died Wednesday after being hit by an oncoming dump truck.
The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. on a two-lane stretch of U.S. 41 north of Deer Run Road.
The motorcycle rider was headed north on U.S. 41 when she entered the southbound lane to pass. The truck driver, a 54-year old-man, swerved out of the way to avoid a collision but struck the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider died at the hospital from her injuries. The truck driver walked away with minor injuries.
