
A car crash involving teen age drivers took the life of an 84-year-old woman in St. Petersburg, Fla. at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2020.
In a statement by the St. Petersburg Police Department, the St. Petersbug resident was driving westbound on 30th Avenue South when she attempted a left turn onto 34th Street South.
A northbound 2013 infinity carrying five teenagers collided with the woman’s car as she pulled into its path. The 84-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the police department, following the crash, the teenagers exited the Infinity and ran, but have since been identified.
The accident is under investigation, and the St. Petersburg police are asking anyone who saw the crash or the events that immediately followed to call SPPD at 727-839-7780. Anonymous messages can be sent via text by typing SPPD + tip to: TIP411.
