A 19-year-old man died early Tuesday, April 19, 2022, when the car he was riding in was rear-ended in Hillsborough County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was at 4:36 a.m. on U.S. 92 at Mango Road.
Police said a 23-year-old woman from Gibsonton was driving a 2019 Nissan Altima and was stopped in the eastbound lane of U.S. 92 for the traffic signal at Mango Road. Her passenger was the 19-year-old man who was also from Gibsonton.
Troopers said a 35-year-old from Auburndale driving a 2016 Jeep Wrangler rear-ended the woman.
The 19-year-old was killed at the scene, while the driver of the Altima had minor injuries, troopers said. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
