The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Team reported a motorcycle crash on Park Boulevard Bridge that occurred Monday, July 18, 2022.
According to investigators, 49-year-old Ferdinando Abbondante was traveling on his 2013 Yamaha R6 motorcycle onto the eastbound entrance ramp of the Park Boulevard Bridge when he approached traffic. Abbondante attempted to pass a vehicle on his left, but when he merged back over, he collided into a guardrail and flew off his motorcycle.
Abbondante was transported to Largo Medical Center Hospital and later passed away.
According to investigators, speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
