Man was Hit on Gulf-to-Bay and Died

The Clearwater Police Department says a man was hit on Gulf-to-Bay near U.S. 19 just before 9 p.m. Thursday. The man was taken to Morton Plant Hospital with serious injuries and later died, according to police.

The westbound lanes of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard were shut down between Park Place and U.S. 19 while crews cleaned up the scene.

Police did not say what led up to the traffic accident. No information has been released on the driver involved.
