The St. Petersburg Police Department continues to investigate the death of an electric scooter operator. The crash happened at 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in the area of 35th Avenue N and 34th Street N.
The scooter operator was traveling west in the median lane in the 3500 block of 34th Street N. An unknown vehicle, believed to be a dark colored Toyota sedan, was traveling northbound in the median lane on 34th Street N. Following the collision, the sedan left the scene. The victim died at the scene, and anyone with information regarding the crash should contact the St. Petersburg Police Department.
