A 42-year-old Broward County man died after a driver hit him on a dark road Tuesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash occurred at 5:27 p.m. on 15th Street East and 55th Avenue Drive East.
FHP said the man was walking in the dark without reflective gear to make himself visible to drivers.
A 46-year-old man from Bradenton, traveling south on 15th Street, hit the man walking with the front left of his car.
The driver stopped, and the man’s body was on the roadway motionless. Manatee County officials declared the man dead on the scene.
