A 20-year-old Brandon motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning after he hit a sedan, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at 11 a.m., south of State Road 64.
The Brandon motorcyclist began to speed northbound when he passed another vehicle by entering the bike lane. A Subaru was coming out of a parking lot, attempting to cross the northbound lanes, when the motorcycle hit the sedan on its driver’s side.
The Subaru driver, an 83-year-old man, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. A 25-year-old passenger was not injured.
The motorcyclist flew off his bike and died at the scene.
