A horrible accident occurred Thursday morning on US 19 in Clearwater when a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle. The Clearwater police say the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US 19 between Sunset Point and Enterprise Road East at Dimmitt Drive.
The police and Clearwater Fire and Rescue arrive on the scene a bit after 11 AM where they shut down the northbound lanes.
The bicyclist was airlifted to a near hospital to attempt and save their life. The driver is cooperating with the investigation. No arrest has been made.
