Three Palm Harbor bicyclists are severely injured after a motorist turned into their path Thursday on East Lake Road, troopers reported.
A 64-year-old, a 65-year-old, and a 61-year-old woman are the crash victims.
The cyclists were riding north on East Lake Road, in a designated bike lane, approaching Trinity Boulevard, when a sedan made a left-hand turn into the cyclists’ path.
Both bicycles collided with the right side of the girl’s car, causing injuries to all three cyclists. They went to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the sedan was not injured.
The sedan driver received a violation for crossing into the cyclists’ path.
