Michael Perenich is a third-generation personal injury attorney and a proud continuation of a family legacy that began in 1955, when his grandfather, Guy Perenich, became one of the first lawyers in Clearwater to devote his practice exclusively to representing the injured. Born in Clearwater and raised in Tarpon Springs, Michael grew up surrounded by the values that shaped the Perenich name—service, accountability, and unwavering advocacy for individuals harmed through no fault of their own.
Michael studied Philosophy at the University of South Florida, where he quickly distinguished himself as a leader and critical thinker. He was selected for the university’s Ethics Bowl team, guiding them to a top placement in the Southeast Region and into the National Competition. He also served as Vice President of the campus Philosophy Organization, deepening the analytical foundation that would later inform his approach to complex litigation.
Michael attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law during which his legal education included an internship with Judge Robert Morris of the Second District Court of Appeal and international study programs in Budapest and Istanbul, where he explored Central European legal systems and international transactions. During his third year, he was accepted to study at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, earning the Honorable R. Grable Stoutamire Book Award in American Legal Thought and a distinction in Trial Practice—early indicators of the courtroom skill he would bring into his career.
After graduating, Michael immediately began litigating cases alongside his father. Since then, he has represented clients in catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, medical malpractice, trucking accidents, and other high-stakes matters. He thrives in cases that demand creativity, strategic thinking, and rigorous advocacy—qualities that have led to significant results for his clients, including multimillion dollar recoveries across a wide range of complex claims.
Michael is committed to continual growth as a trial lawyer. He regularly studies emerging litigation strategies, collaborates with seasoned attorneys inside and outside the firm, and actively participates in case roundtables to refine his approach. His dedication to the craft earned him an invitation to speak at the Florida Justice Association’s renowned Workhorse Seminar, a recognition reserved for attorneys with notable trial skill and insight.
Deeply engaged in his community and family life, Michael enjoys traveling, wakeboarding, hiking, mountain biking, playing and coaching soccer, reading, cooking, tuning and racing cars, woodworking, gardening, and producing music. Each year, he speaks at local schools for the Great American Teach In and Law Day, sharing with students the principles of justice and civic responsibility that have guided his family for generations. Michael lives in Palm Harbor with his wife and children.
