A 24-year-old man dies from a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, after running a red light and crashing into a box truck.

The crash happened around 5:35 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 41 and River Road in Sarasota.

The Highway Patrol reported that the 24-year-old was heading northbound on U.S. 41 when he ran a red light and ran into a box truck that was heading west on River Road. The box truck driver had a green light.

The motorcyclist died at the scene.

The Highway Patrol said their investigation into the crash has further details.
