3rd Teen Dies Following Saturday's Head-On Crash in HillsboroughHillsborough County, FL (February 22, 2020) – A head-on crash with a tractor trailer on U.S. 92 in Hillsborough County has left three teens dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident occurred early Saturday morning.

The vehicle carrying the three teens was a 2008 Ford Escape. At approximately 12:38 AM, the vehicle was driving westbound on U.S. 92 when, for reasons unknown, the driver crossed the centerline of the road and struck a semi-truck head on. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, none of the three teenage passengers in the 2008 Ford Escape were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol did not play a role in the crash. The driver of the truck was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical and is in serious condition.
